Education on Islamic Financial Governance for Farming Families in Nganjuk, East Java

Lecturers and students from the Department of Sharia Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (Unair) conducted Community Service activities by providing education on Islamic financial management for farming families in Sugihwaras Village, Nganjuk, August 13, 2022. This activity was chaired by Meri Indri Hapsari with members Sri Herianingrum, Fatin Fadhilah Hasib, Maulana Rais Adam, Raihan Akbar Mahendra and Arka Prabaswara. This educational activity was carried out in three sessions. The first session was giving material on a simple understanding of Islamic finance by Irham Zaki. In the second and third sessions, Elva Farihah presented material on the importance of household finances and financial planning practices and techniques for recording and preparing financial plans. Previously, a pre-test was conducted to participants to measure the participants' initial understanding of household financial governance. The material session was carried out by providing explanations and directions on how to prepare family financial planning according to Islamic sharia provisions. The next session, carried out the practice of recording cash inflows and outflows that were good and correct, and continued with the practice of making family financial plans by choosing priorities for household needs. The entire material session was closed with a post-test, to measure the participants' understanding and practical ability. This activity is a form of support from FEB Unair in achieving SDGs 4 goals, improving the quality of public education at large.
